We always take movement for granted until we don’t have movement. Looking at the body and observing the body natural range of movement (ROM) helps with the natural alignment of posture. This starts at the feet, if you correctly position your feet on the floor and the body will naturally align. An assessment of posture will be made at the start and end of treatment. Continued massages will keep the posture aligned.
Looking at the muscles that are switched off and switching them back on so that the whole body works as one, correct muscle firing sequence is key for the body to function efficiently. If the muscles do not work together correctly, (due to switched off muscles), it will cause posture misalignment and will have an impact on wear and tear on ligaments and joints causing inflammation leading to arthritis. For example the lumber and abbs work together, by sitting in a chair the abbs are switched off. The bicep and tricep also works together. When we have tight muscles this restricts the true movement of the extremities or the torso.
Sitting down for long periods of time is not good for us. We were not designed this way and yet we are conditioned into working practices where we have to do so. Sometimes a standing desk and a correct chair is provided, but often we are forced to work with standard office equipment, thus making our bodies put up with and adjust.
By having a regular massage this will realign the muscles in coping with sub standard office practices.
